Overview - Italian Cultural Studies in Venice

The Department of Art History and Archaeology and the Department of Italian offer a six week summer program based at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. The program uses an interdisciplinary approach to understanding Italian culture through study of its language, literature, art history, and architecture and the opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of the rich Venetian culture, traditions and history.

The program runs from the beginning of June to mid-July.

Program Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student in good academic standing or have completed a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent. Open also to graduate and postgraduate students from Columbia and other institutions.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Minimum 3.0 average language GPA for courses taught in Italian.
  • No previous Italian language or art history study is required for some courses.
