Program Description:
Beesen Global Experience Research Fellowships were established to provide opportunities for non-native French speakers to study or research in Paris during the summer. Each fellowship provides a $5000 award to fellows, intended to fund travel to/from Paris, housing costs during the summer, and defray the general costs associated with living and researching in Paris during the summer. The fellowship’s intent is to give Columbia University students the opportunity to pursue intellectual goals, gain valuable research and study experience, learn French in Paris, and engage with the Parisian community.

Students of all disciplines within Columbia College, the School of General Studies, the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Barnard College are encouraged to apply. Applicants must secure a CU Faculty Mentor, who will supervise their research before, during and after their research period in Paris in addition to writing a letter of support for the proposed project and maturity of candidate to conduct the research proposed. If you receive a Beesen Global Experience Fellowship, you may be asked to speak at an information session for interested students next year.

Please note, preference for selection will be given to those who participated in Columbia Reid Hall in Paris as either a fall, spring, or academic year study abroad program.
