Beijing Summer Program: This nine-week program immerses students in one of the world's most dynamic cities and offers four levels of intensive Chinese language studies from beginner through fourth year. Students complete the equivalent of one year of Chinese at Columbia. Group excursions in and around Beijing, lectures by local experts, and a week-long travel break give students insight into Chinese society and lifestyle.
 
Shanghai Summer Program: The program begins with six weeks of intensive, personalized instruction in Chinese language classes that emphasize the specialized vocabulary, jargon, linguistic styles, and appropriate behaviors used in a professional setting. During the final four weeks of the program, students complete field placements in the Shanghai offices of local or multinational companies giving them an invaluable opportunity to apply their classroom learning of Chinese in a professional setting.
