Program Description:

The Summer Special Program is designed for students who want to improve their Korean language skills and also experience Korean culture over summer session. This program takes the regular 200 hour program and concentrates it into 100 hours of study, all while being able to participate in additional afternoon cultural activities like: Korean cooking, Korean Pottery, Taekwondo, and K-pop dance, etc.

Students study Korean at the appropriate level for 20-hours per week.

SEAS students may also take courses English. Columbia College and SEAS students have different summer transfer credit rules, especially for courses taught in English. Students interested in this program should review summer transfer credit eligibility to help determine which courses offered on the summer program will be eligible for transfer credit.

Program Features

Students are encouraged to live in the on-campus dormitories.  Through visits to Korean cultural heritage sites, students will also learn more about Korea’s past and present, as well as experience Korean culture firsthand.

All students should consult the OGP eligibility page to ensure that they meet all specific academic requirements for each school (CC, GS, SEAS) to study abroad.
